Who owns the rights to my book?

Accepted Answer

Once the book is completed to your satisfaction and all payments have been received, you will gain full copyright ownership over your book.

If I've already started, can you work with what I have?

I generally prefer to get the information from the interviews, but if you have previous papers, journals, or other written materials, these might be useful as well. I don't work with AI-generated material. (I find this is far more work to edit than simply to rewrite because it doesn't have your voice.)

How much time do I have to invest?

Accepted Answer

Be prepared for a couple hour-long meetings per week at the beginning of the process. However, I can be pretty flexible with your schedule and work with your availability. Once the writing and editing starts, you can be more or less involved as you please within the contract limits.

How long does the process take overall?

For a full book, I estimate 8-9 months. For a proposal, around 3 months. For an ebook, about 6 weeks.

Question 5

Do you use AI?

I do not use AI to write. In my experience, it provides an inferior manuscript that has none of the warmth, voice, or humanity of a human-written book. However, I may use AI in a limited capacity for research. If I do use it for this purpose, I will always inform you and be very careful to cross-check and independently verify the results.

Do I have to write anything myself?

Absolutely not! The writing is entirely taken care of for you in any of my full service packages. You still have the option of making suggestions for rewrites during the writing and editing phases, but this is not required. However, if you wish to write some or all of the manuscript yourself and still benefit from my experience, my coaching service might be a good option.
